The lower airway obstruction that is characteristic of Recurrent Airway Obstruction, also known as Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), is caused by bronchial muscle spasms, inflammation of the trachea and lung tissue and the accumulation of phlegm. These conditions can lead to a COPD horse refusing to eat or drink due to the extreme labored breathing and the pronounced abdominal effort to force air out of the lungs. It is here that a COPD horse produces the classic “heave line” along the external abdominal oblique muscles. Our Recurrent Airway Obstruction Relief (Heaves Solution) is a remarkable combination of herbs that reduces inflammation, offers relief from bronchial spasms, increases bronchodilation and reduces the production of phlegm. These herbs offer speedy symptomatic relief while working to deal with the source of the problem.
Dosage: this is a long term, maintenance formulation to be administered twice daily until your horse breathes easily, during rest or movement. Continue herbal treatment for one month after all symptoms are gone.
